Bahrain Volleyball Association names two lineswomen in a first

BVA board member Rashid Jaber said that the initiative aims to attract more lineswomen and hone their skills.

Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA) has designated two lineswomen for second division matches for the first time in Kingdom.

The Referees Committee appointed Ebtissam Ali and Ayat Abdulaziz to take part in officiating the matches opposing Al Maameer-Ittihad Al-Reef and Al Nabeeh Saleh-Al Dair respectively.

BVA board member Rashid Jaber said that the initiative aims to attract more lineswomen and hone their skills.

Rashid Jaber, also Referees Committee Chairman, said that lines women would be given the opportunity to officiate first division matches.

BVA Chairman Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa gave directives to hone the skills of women referees as part of effort to promote gender equality.

“Bahrain women have already confirmed their talents as players, coaches and adminitrators”, said BVA board member Rashid Jaber.
