Egyptian scuba diver Saddam Al-Kilany remained underwater for over 145 hours in a bid to set a new world record. Saddam's attempt hasn't been formally confirmed yet by Guinness World Records. In 2016, Cem Karabay set the 'longest open saltwater scuba dive (male)' Guinness World Record with a dive that lasted 142 hours, 42 minutes, 42 seconds.

Saddam said his original plan was to stay submerged for 150 hours. But due to health concerns, he was taken out four-and-a-half hours early.

Back in August, a Russian sports instructor set a new Guinness World Record by bench pressing a 50-kg barbell 76 times underwater before returning to the surface for air.

Before attempting the record at Lebyazhye lake, Vivchar trained hard for two months.

“I came across the official Guinness world record a couple of years ago after seeing a man lifting a barbell underwater. Then I thought that I had enough skills to do that myself. I have experience of winning bench press competitions; I won the European Russian-style bench press tournament. And I’m an amateur freediver. So, I applied to set a new record,” Vivchar was quoted as saying by RT.

However, the most impressive world in recent times was set by a toddler from St. George.

Rich Humphreys, a 6-month-old baby, set a world record for being the youngest child ever to go waterskiing.

Rich broke the record at 6 months and 4 days old. The previous unofficial world record for the youngest water skier was set by Zyla St Onge, who earned it in 2016 when she was just 6 months and 27 days old.

While many netizens were amazed to see Rich go water skiing at such a young age, others criticized his parents for not prioritizing the child's health.
