A year apart born twins!
A US couple welcomed twin girls who were born six minutes apart but have their birthdays in different years.
Kali Jo Scott, 37, from Denton, Texas, thought that her twins would be born in 2023 as she was scheduled for a cesarean section on January 11. However, she was hospitalised for her blood pressure after a checkup on December 29.
She gave birth to her first daughter, Annie Jo, at 11:55 pm on December 31. Six minutes later, Annie Jo's sister, Effie Rose, was born at 12:01 am on January 1.
"I love the unique aspect that they get to go forward with a little bit of individualism right out of the gates," Kali told Good Morning America.
She said, "We had joked at that point, once we realized that we weren't going to leave the hospital without babies, that wouldn't it be funny. We had a couple friends who said the same thing, and then it ended up happening that way."
The mum shared how they will be celebrating the daughters' individual birthdays in future. "I had been thinking, you know, so traditional of one birthday, but now it's two totally different birthdays. One will get to celebrate New Year's Eve going out and [the other] gets to celebrate New Year's Day and the new year coming in," she said.
She added, "I love it. I think it is hilarious and just super fun."
