ASIS KG Department conducted events to promote the bonding between for parent and child.

“PARENTS” Become your Best Friend when nobody understands YOU. – Mangesh Bari

We have sisters, brothers, friends, relatives, colleagues and many more relationships, but nothing is more precious than the relationship of a parent and child. A relationship beyond words is this beautiful relationship of fathers and mothers with their sons and daughters.

Is it necessary that every event conducted at school should be oriented towards academics ? During this pandemic, one word has been prime in every one's dictionary - the word “COVID-19”. The rising number of cases leaving everyone with stress and fear of being exposed to it.

People are running to work, to save their jobs. Don’t they need a stress reliever? Do we ever think about it? And no doubt kids are the best stress busters. Every little thing done by them is like a fairy tale. When the parents come back home stressed and drained out, these kids open the door with a cute smile and parents forget all their worries and so feel relaxed.

These days fathers and mothers are the busiest people, they don’t get time for their little ones. When they leave for office their little ones are sleeping and when they are back late night, their little stars have gone to sleep waiting for them. While planning for activities, the teachers came up with an idea of “Feed your father” and “Dress up your child ”. This was intended to be something beyond just a competition. The intention behind it being giving parents some fun time with their children. On 11th June 2020 and 14th June 2020, two events were organized for the parents and kids, “Feed your father” and “Dress up your child” .

“Feed your father” was conducted on 11th June 2020, where the child needs to feed 10 spoons of rice to his or her father with closed eyes. Parents and children enjoyed the event thoroughly. One parent said, “My child is 4 years old and this is the first time he has fed me, and this will be the most memorable event of my life”.

Mothers are every child's best friend. We certainly feel so. Do you remember when your mother use to run behind you to feed you food, would tell you stories, would wake you up every morning for school, waiting in the hot sun for you to be back from school, listen to you, play with you, read out stories for you .. the list is never ending. The KG Department of Al Saad Indian School put up a challenge for the mothers too. They had to dress their child with their closed eyes. It did seem like a really tough challenge, but the mothers proved that no challenge is big enough for her to overcome when it concerns their child. On 14th June 2020, “Dress up your child” event was conducted for the mother and child, And in no time the kids were dressed up by the mothers with closed eyes. Wow! It left everyone speechless. Both mother and child enjoyed their time together and made the event unforgettable.

Summary

As Benjamin Franklin said “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” Involvement of children in such activities teach them values that are important in real life.
