Fitness Week Observed at Bhavans IES

On April 8, 2021, a mega ‘Mass Drill’ was virtually arranged for all the students and teachers

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait,organized a myriad of physical activities and exercises under the auspices of the Department of Physical Education as part of the observance of ‘Fitness Week’ from April 6 to April 12, 2021 in its virtual classrooms with the aim of creating awareness among the students about the importance of physical fitness.

On April 6, 2021, the students of grades 9 to 12 took part in a cardio challenge during the recess, under the supervision of their respective class teachers. Dr. Murugaiyan S., HoD, Physical Education, introduced the fitness exercises with a video demonstration that followed, and students participated in the session with great enthusiasm. On April 7, 2021, the students of grades 7 and 8 had the privilege of being part of a short yoga session. A video link was shared with all the classes, and the students actively participated in the session in the presence of their class teachers. On April 8, 2021, a mega ‘Mass Drill’ was virtually arranged for all the students and teachers during the chat session from 10.45 a.m. to 11.10 a.m. The students were so excited that they could join the mass drill with their beloved pedagogues. On April 9, 2021, a Poster Making competition on the topic, ‘Fitness Beats Pandemic’ was organized for the students of grade 5 to 9 to help them express their understanding of physical fitness through their artistic acumen. On April 10, 2021, the students could test their general knowledge by participating in an online sports quiz, and the last two days, the 11th and the 12th of April 2021, were reserved for the sessions of breathing exercise for grades 5 and 6 and eye exercise for grades 1 to 4.

With the grand observance of this year’s ‘Fitness Week’, once again it was conclusively proved that Bhavans IES would always give high priority to the holistic development and the mental and the physical fitness of its students while imparting quality education even amidst the ongoing pandemic.
