Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Schools in Al Ain celebrate their Founder’s Day

Teachers and staff who completed 5 years of successful association with the school were awarded for their dedication and commitment.

Bhavans’ - Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain in collaboration with its sister school, Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain celebrated the ‘Founder’s Day’ on 11th September 2021 as a whole-hearted dedication to the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Middle East, Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon.

The function was conducted with splendor in the Zoom virtual auditorium and attended by hundreds of supporters and well-wishers who watched the event being telecast live on the school’s Facebook pages.

As is customary, the function commenced with the royal National Anthem of the UAE, followed by Quran recitation by Mr. Salman Faris, a faculty of the Arabic department in Al Saad Indian School. A melodious prayer song by Teachers’ choir from Al Saad Indian school and the Bhavans’ anthem set the tone for the evening. Ms. Deena Fathima, Head Girl of Al Saad Indian School rendered a hearty and extensive welcome address to the august gathering in the virtual platform. Among the galaxy of eminent guests were Principals, Vice Principals and Senior Leaders from all schools of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in the Middle East.

Following the welcome address, a Virtual lamp lighting formalized the function which set the graceful ambience for the inaugural function. The lamp was lit by Shri. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman of Bhavans’ Middle East, Smt. Sudha Ramachandran, First Lady of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Middle East, Shri. Sooraj Ramachandran, Vice Chairman of Bhavans’ Middle East, Smt. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, Director of Bhavans’ Middle East, Dr. K.T. Nandakumar, Principal of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain, Dr. Bhavna Gupta, Principal of Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain.

To invoke the blessings of the almighty, a classical dance – Ganesha Vandana, was performed by enthusiastic teachers from Al Saad Indian School to ward off any hindrances as is believed. A Musical Extravaganza by Mr. Gaurav Barde, the music teacher from Al Saad Indian School charmed the audience by its sheer brilliance and uniqueness. Mr. Gaurav is the second glass harpist from India and his birthday wish to the chairman using 27 glasses filled with water at different levels was melodious and enchanting. A first experience for many indeed.

The Principal’s of both schools addressed the gathering with their address. Dr. KT Nandakumar of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School expressed his accolades to the Chairman sir and said, “You are a fantastic example of wisdom, leadership and foresights.” He extolled the growth of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in the Middle East which started in 2006 in Kuwait and expressed gratitude for the richness of his experience and learning over his period of service extending to beyond a decade with the group. Dr Bhavna Gupta, Principal of Al Saad Indian School shared her learnings from the chairman and held that these were the guiding principles of our way of thoughts and actions – self-awareness, self-reflection and self-regulation.

Following the inaugural address - the Chief Guest of the day - the Chairman of Bhavans’ Middle East addressed the virtual audience with a short and sweet inspiring speech. He emphasized on the following words, “If teachers bring out the best in themselves, definitely it will motivate and inspire the children who are under their custody to bring out the best version of their self. Teachers need to lead by example.”

CA. Sooraj Ramachandran, the Vice chairman of Bhavans Middle East in his speech addressing the teachers and students said, “The grass is always greener here no matter which window you look out from. A Greener pasture will always be around you with us at Bhavans.”

CA. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, the Director of Bhavans Middle East connected with Vinayaka Chathurthy celebrated the day before and expiated symbolisms represented by festivals in relation to lessons we can learn and imbibe – be it in personality or actions. She reiterated that each part of Shri Ganesha represented qualities that we could imbibe for enhancing ourselves and also linked it to lessons she learnt during her association with Bhavans Middle East over the last two years.

The first lady Smt. Sudha Ramachandran in her short but powerful address emphasized that both the schools in Al Ain were in their growing stages and that they would surely follow the path of their elder schools and wished that both the schools achieve the pinnacles of success expected out of them.

Teachers and staff who completed 5 years of successful association with the school were awarded for their dedication and commitment. In spite of the Covid Pandemic teachers who battled viruses and illness to achieve a 100% attendance were honoured too.

The highlight of the day was a cultural fiesta with the theme “Anugrah” kept the engaged and captivated. A mini skit highlighting the entry of a teacher into the Bhavans Middle East family and the changes and blessings it brought into his life was realistically captured and showcased by the teachers of Bhavans’ Al Saad Indian School in association with Bhavans’ Pearl Wisdom School. It was a melange of emotional renditions, coloured with dramatization and dances, it tugged many a heart and would have surely been relatable for many. It was a tribute by the team at Al Ain to their Chairman and to the institution to convey their gratitude for the Anugrah – Blessings in abundance. A vibrant video tribute by the heads of Department of Al Saad Indian School was a notable inclusion in the cultural program.

The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Master Aaron Philip Iykara, Head Boy of Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain and ensured that the Founder’s Day program culminated with a joyful and thankful note. The curtains closed with the rendition of the Indian National Anthem and ensured that the program in honour of the Founder- Chairman did justice to the ideals and mission of the visionary.
