5th Annual Day- ‘SRISHTI’ 2021 at Bhavans Smart Indian School

Smart Indian School celebrated its 5th Annual Day on 18th December 2021 with great zeal and enthusiasm. It is a day which everyone awaits with utmost anticipation and excitement, an occasion that spreads joy and serves as a platform for students to exhibit their unique talents and build their confidence. A day that kindles the spirit of togetherness.

The program started with the lighting of lamp by the chief guest Mr. Nabil Gumma (Head of Activities Department in Private Education, Kuwait accompanied by the management team.

The principal of the school Mr. Mahesh Iyer presented the School Annual Report along with student news readers in the form of SIS News through Bhavans Smart TV. Program included a spectacular display of a range of performances that included the drama, songs, and dances. The TV show made the spectators spell bound, above all the co-operation extended by all the parents, students and teachers was truly amazing.

The chairman, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon congratulated the academic winners of the proficiency holders and scholar badge awardees of the academic year 2020-2021 and the 10th class school toppers in his address. The all- rounder winners were also honoured through medals by the Chief Guest of the day. We are proud to report that students have brought laurels to the school by their excellent results. Master Mathew from grade 9 Aries and Master Jasim from grade 10 Aries were honoured with the title ‘Dean of Students Above and Beyond Honourable Mentions’ for their outstanding contribution to school programs and activities beyond their classrooms.

The school Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer was bestowed with the award of ‘School of Excellence’ for the contribution to an international program on Climate Change Project, together with seven other students and the coordinator Mrs. Rekha Raveendran who received merit certificates. Through this act of award ceremony, we build on children and celebrate their achievements by helping children recognize their accomplishments and experience the joy of learning.

A very inspirational speech was delivered by the chief guest, Mr.Nabil Gumaa where he expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated contribution by all the private schools with special mention to Bhavans Smart Indian School for the Kuwait education system, which made the audience listen in rapt attention. The Director, Bhavans Middle East Mrs. Divya Rajesh in her speech urged students to explore far and beyond their reach.

The theme for the cultural programme of grades 1 to 5 was ‘World through my Lens’ depicting the new start and swap after being back to school. Yes, the pandemic has exposed a silver lining, in the form of digital solutions that has expanded classroom boundaries to reach more children, enabled kids to take advantage of assistive technology, and engaged parents more deeply with their children's schooling.

An Arabic Dance depicting Egyptian’s lifestyle stole the show and bridged the gap between the two entertainment shows.

The theme ‘Salaam India!’ was depicted by students from grades 6 to 11 portraying the unity of India through the diversity of its people which stands as one of the most diverse countries in the world, a subcontinent that is home to over 100 languages, over 700 different tribes with every major religion in the world.

A music video dedication by the students and staff along with the Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer on the 60th anniversary of ‘India Kuwait Friendship’ was the culmination of the entire programme as Grand Finale.

Thus this year’s Annual Function proved to be an astounding visual treat that enthralled every spectator connected virtually and watched the show face to face paving way for a unique hybrid mode of celebration.
