The celebration of Role Model day in Bhavans SIS

Be a role model, not a critic. Don’t tell your children what to do- show them. And when the lesson is over, keep showing them by demonstrating that your actions are part of your character”.

It was an inspiring day at Bhavans Smart Indian School and Jack and Jill Preschool. The Kindergarten tiny tots on this day were asked to select a member of their family as their role model and come dressed like them, as parents are certainly the ultimate role models for children.

The teachers were amazed to see the kindergarteners dressed up either as their parent, grandparent, sibling, or their caregiver. Some even considered their teachers as a part of their family and came dressed like them. The little ones spoke a few sentences about their role models whom they see as their superheroes and mentors. It was so much fun to see these tiny tots enact and mimic them.

The celebration of Role Model day reminded all the teachers of their responsibility as living role models in the lives of these little ones, after all, children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they never failed to imitate them. It is rightly said that one of the prerequisites for children becoming proactive and responsible citizens is the availability of enough role models inside and outside the school.

It was indeed a day that left an indelible mark in the minds of the young and the old.
