Bhavans IES Observes World AIDS Day 2021

The students and staff of IES wore the traditional red awareness ribbon to express their solidarity with AIDS patients all over the world.

World AIDS Day is observed annually on 01 December since1988 in order to create awareness among the public on AIDS - a disease caused by the HIV. The theme of the World AIDS Day 2021 is ‘End inequalities, End AIDS.’ WHO and its partners strive to shine a light on the drastic disparities in accessing the essential medical services to AIDS patients across the globe.

Indian Education School organized the World AIDS Day programs in its campus to generate awareness among the students about the dangerous disease that wreaks havoc all over the world. The students and staff of IES wore the traditional red awareness ribbon to express their solidarity with AIDS patients all over the world.

In order to generate awareness, Lakshmi Sahiti, Sheetal Sara Joseph, Irene Susan Jose, Alina Sara Abraham, Sharon Justin and Evangeline Sara Sooraj of Grade 11 displayed flashcards and spoke to their peers about the disease AIDS providing them information on its mode of transmission and the preventive measures with which we can ward off the disease.

The Science teachers at IES held group discussions and delivered short speeches on the history of the disease, the effect of the disease on the immune system so on and so forth. Students were seen listening to their teachers all ears.

The events organized by IES helped cultivate general awareness on AIDS in the minds of students, enabling them to become better members of society. The simple and unique way of organizing the awareness campaign in the wake of World Aids Day by the department of Science, IES left an indelible mark of awareness in the minds of young Bhavanites – the true flagbearers of Indian ethos in the state of Kuwait.
