Bhavans Indian Education School Hosts its Maiden Interschool Holy Quran Recitation Competition

The competitions were held in four categories for the students of grades 3 to 10

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait, organized the first-ever Interschool Holy Quran recitation competition virtually on April 23, 2022. Selected students from all the Bhavans Schools in the Middle East took part in the competition.

The proceedings of the day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Sahal Ansar of 12 A. Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the Headmistress of Primary and Kindergarten, welcomed the virtual gathering. The Principal of Indian Education School, Mr. T. Premkumar in his address thanked all the Bhavanites for being a part of this maiden venture. He reminded the audience to remember the sacrifice and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He asserted that the teachings and philosophies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are to be remembered and practiced by everyone in life to avoid conflicts in the world. He also mentioned that the one who practices the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) becomes purer in mind and heart day by day. He advised the students to render the verses of the Holy Quran by completely surrendering themselves to the Almighty.

The competitions were held in four categories for the students of grades 3 to 10. The eminent judges of the event were Dr. Sayed Ali Sayed, the Head of the Islamic Department at Nukhba School, Mr. Hazim Salah Ameen, Islamic teacher at Nukhba school and Hafiz at Awqaaf Kuwait, Mr. Ahmed Muhammed Abdalmuaati, Islamic teacher, and Quran teacher at Nukhba School, Mr. Abrar, Islamic teacher at Indian Integrated School. The results were declared soon after the program.

In group A, Quran recitation, Jamila Badsha of Smart Indian School, Kuwait, bagged the first place. Aymana Omer of Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain and Qasim of Indian Educational School, Kuwait won the second and third places respectively. In group A, Tajweed, Muhammed Zeeshan of Indian Education School bagged the first position. The second and third positions were won by Ayaan Mohammed Irfan of Private International School, Abu Dhabi and Eshaal Sinan of Smart Indian School, Kuwait, respectively.

In group B, Quran recitation, C. Mohammed Noman of Wise Indian Academy, Ajman secured the first place. The second and third positions were won by Abdul Basit Shaker of Smart Indian School and Fazia of Indian Education School, Kuwait respectively. In group B, Tajweed, Zayaan Shaneef of Smart Indian School, Kuwait bagged the first place. The second and third positions were won by Thwaha Muzamil of Private International School, Abu Dhabi, and Aydin M.A of Wise Indian Academy, Ajman respectively.

In group C, Quran recitation, Abdulhadi of Indian Education school won the first place. The second and third position were won by Mohammad Asad Shah of Private International School, Abu Dhabi and Ali Naeem of Smart Indian School, Kuwait respectively. In group C, Tajweed Ayaan Bashir Shaikh of Private International School, Abu Dhabi secured the first place. The second and third positions were won by Abu Zayyan of Indian Education School, Kuwait and Faiza Hanih of Smart Indian School, Kuwait respectively.

In group D, Quran recitation, Yunus Hamadan of Indian Educational School, Kuwait bagged the first place. The second and third places were won by Mustafa Fazal of Smart Indian School, Kuwait, and Zoya Fathima of Bahrain Indian School, Bahrain respectively. In group D, Tajweed, Abdullah Othman of Indian Education School, Kuwait bagged the first position. The second and third positions were won by Ali Zahid Alavi of Smart Indian School, Kuwait, and Anum Omer of Al Saad Indian School Al Ain respectively.

Ms. Rawia Lotfy Ahmed Osman, the Head of the Arabic Department proposed the vote of thanks. Principal Mr. T. Premkumar, announced that Inter School Quran Recitation Competition will be an annual event henceforth. He thanked Mr. Jabir Hasan, the Head of the Department of Islamic Studies and Ms. Rawia Lotfy Ahmed Osman, the Head of the Department of Arabic for their coordination and cooperation. Principal, also thanked the judges and congratulated the winners for their dedication. In her closing thoughts, Ms. Muneera Mammikutty thanked the Chairman Bhavans Middle East Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon for inspiring the Bhavanites to explore the world beyond textbooks and giving ample opportunities to ensure holistic development in students. Misba Parkar of 9A and Manha Anees Shina of 9B were the emcees for the event.
