Bhavans IES Holds Its Investiture Ceremony

The guest of honour accompanied by the Senior Leadership Team of IES was given a reverential salute

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait, grandly held the investiture of the newly elected members of the Student Parliament consisting of vice presidents, prime ministers, ministers of states, house captains, vice captains, class prefects and blossoms of the primary wing for the academic session 2022-2023 on June 9, 2022. The guest of honour for the day was Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, whose luminous presence brightened up the ceremonial occasion.

The guest of honour accompanied by the Senior Leadership Team of IES was given a reverential salute and a guard of honour by the cadets of the Bhavans Service Scheme. Following that, the newly elected members of the Student Parliament and the other student leaders marched with gauged steps and oscillating arms in sync into the auditorium and took their positions.

The event was held in the most grandeur fashion and unfurled to life in the school auditorium with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Sahal Ansar of 12A, followed by the national anthem of Kuwait by the school choir. The melodious prayer song and Bhavans Anthem rendered by the school choir heightened the solemn spirit of the occasion. A short video of the glimpses of the investiture ceremonies of yesteryears was played, taking the audience a trip down memory lane.

Lakshmi Sahiti Vallabhaneni of 12A congenially welcomed the august gathering comprising Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar, Vice-principals, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Mr. Binoy Mathew Headmistress, Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the teachers, and the newly elected members of the school parliament.

Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, adorned the members of the Student Parliament and the house captains of IES with their insignia – badges and sashes while the auditorium reverberated with rolling applause and excited cheering. The presence of the officials from the Ministry of Education added lustre and grace to the memorable moments. The heads of various departments, subject coordinators, and the teachers adorned the class prefects with their badges.

Mr. T. Premkumar, Principal, IES, administered the oath of allegiance to the new members of the parliament. The highly dynamic young leaders with an unfaltering sense of responsibility were sworn in by taking the oath of office. Donning the mantle of leadership and accountability, the Vice-presidents of the Student Parliament, Laksha Anilbhai Sangtani and Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala, delivered their acceptance speeches infused with devotion to the institution and unswerving loyalty to the student community of IES.

Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, while addressing the gathering, stated that he would like to see a difference in the functioning of the new student parliament. He underscored that all the members of the parliament should meet on Thursdays to discuss the issues related to classroom transactions and instructed them to submit a note on every second and fourth Thursday, with suggestions to improve the teaching-learning process in the school.

Srihari Badrinarayanan of 12B proposed the vote of thanks. The emcees for the day were Ethan Bobby Kurien of 12A and Alina Sara Abraham of 12C. The eventful day held in an immensely impressive way came to a close with the national anthem of India, followed by a photo session of the new parliament members and the other student leaders with the dignitaries.
