BHAVANS ORGANISES MUN –A MOCK EMERGENCY SESSION ON THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINE WAR

The proceedings of the delegation committee were meticulously explained to the audience to ensure a proper understanding of the event.

In its continuing efforts to instil and encourage diplomacy and delegation skills in the future leaders of our world, the Bhavans Model United Nations (BMUN) team of IES, Kuwait, under the aegis of the Department of Social Science organised an engaging and riveting session on Thursday, 9 June 2022. The session entitled, ‘The Mock Emergency Session on the Russian – Ukraine War’, was coordinated by Ms Ann Bindhia and Ms. Harija Banu, Heads of the Department of Social Science with the participation of a 9-member student delegation committee.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Lakshmi Sahiti Vallabhaneni followed by a briefing on the background of the Russo-Ukrainian war situation by Srihari Badrinarayanan and Sahiti Vallabhaneni of Grade 12, Chairpersons of BMUN, IES Kuwait. The proceedings of the delegation committee were meticulously explained to the audience to ensure a proper understanding of the event. The 9-member delegation committee led by the Chairpersons comprised, China represented by Aaron Anil Thomas of grade 10, Norway represented by Caren Ann Suresh of grade 12, France represented by Manha Anees of grade 9, UAE represented by Sai Varun Menon of grade 12 , UK represented by Misbah Kazim Parkar of grade 9, India represented by Vishwesh Balaji Raveendran of grade10, Russia represented by Irene Sara of grade12, Ukraine represented by Josh Savyo of grade 12, and USA represented by Fida Ancy of grade 10. The session was attended by the students of Grade 8.

On behalf of the Principal, Mr. T Premkumar, the Vice Principals, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Mr. Binoy Mathew extoled the excellent conduct of the event. The session concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Fida Ancy of grade 10.
