Bhavans IES Celebrates India’s 76th Independence Day

The Student Parliament formally escorted the principal to the podium.

The podium decked up with tricolour festoons and soothing patriotic music in the air had set up a perfect ambience for the 76th Indian Independence Day celebrations at Indian Educational School, Bhavans, Kuwait on 15 August 2022.

The Independence Day celebration began at 8.00 a.m. The Student Parliament formally escorted the principal to the podium. This was followed by the hoisting of the Indian National flag by the Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar in the presence of the Vice Principals Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Mr. Binoy Mathew, Headmistress, Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, Heads of various Departments, parents, and the student community of Bhavans. The principal read out the message delivered by the President of India on the eve of the 76th Independence Day evoking a sense of patriotism in the hearts of Bhavanites. He expressed his greetings to the great guild of Bhavans and urged the students to realize, understand, and cherish the coveted freedom and work towards a progressive nation. He urged the teachers to be the role models for the student community to evolve as good and responsible citizens.

The students showcased their patriotism and expressed their great pride through an array of spectacular dances and musical performances. Malavika Happey Athimattathil of grade 9 delivered a remarkable speech on the vast diversity of India, that instilled a sense of national pride. The mesmerizing patriotic dance performed by the dance teacher, Ms. Shakhila PK was indeed a feast for the eyes. This was followed by the mellifluous rendition of patriotic songs by the teaching fraternity. The patriotic dance performed by the students of grade 9,Malavika Happey Athimattathil, Deepika Vijayaraghavan, Sindoora Shridhar Bhat, Joann Mariam Alex, Anjali Siju Pillai, and Punya Prajeesh won the appreciation of all the viewers. The street play staged by Misba Kazim Parkar, Kiran Kumar, Tiya Susan Cheriyan, Anaswara Babuprasad, Govind Murali, and Joel Biju George brought out the true essence of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. The Art teacher, Mr. Prasanthan, presented a memento to the principal to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. The highlight of the day was the exceptional creation of colourful imprints by the Bhavanites on the tricolour-painted canvas exhibiting the solidarity of the entire Bhavans family.

The Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar wholeheartedly expressed his gratitude to the Department of Physical Education headed by Dr. Murugaiyan Subbarayalu K. Samy, the Department of Social Science headed by Ms. Hajira Banu, the Coordinators of the event, Ms. Aswathy Mol and Mr. Nagarajan Murugesh, the Art teacher, Mr. Prasanthan, the members of teaching fraternity, the members of Student Parliament, and the supporting staff for organizing a programme of such a magnitude. This eventful day was emceed by Abigail Lisa Abraham of class (9D) and Aarya Anilkumar Krishnankutty of (11 D).

Thus, the Independence Day celebrations at Indian Education School, Kuwait infused in the young Bhavanites a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude for the martyrs and great leaders sensitizing them to grow up as responsible and conscientious citizens with a true sense of patriotism.
