Career Guidance Session for the 10th Graders at Bhavans SIS

The core content of the session was focused on the commerce stream, its courses, and opportunities.

Bhavans, Smart Indian School, arranged a session on the topic “Commerce as a subject after Grade 10”. Mr. Sriram Gopalakrishnan, a chartered accountant with almost three decades of experience in auditing, was invited to shed some light on the topic for the students’ betterment. The programme commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Ashwanth, the head boy in the presence of the Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer and the School Counselor Ms. Anju Jacob.

The core content of the session was focused on the commerce stream, its courses, and opportunities. Mr. Sriram Gopalakrishnan started off the session with a subjective question on ‘What is Success?’ grabbing the attention of the audience. The students created a positive impression with their usual responsive nature. Further they were inspired with the other essential qualities for future success namely hard work, passion, integrity and quick to adapt to any kind of changes. Then a couple of positive quotes were also shared which not only boosted students’ motivation but also helped them understand the gravity of his points. Through his presentation he strived to explain that the secret to success is not to choose a profession out of compulsion but out of aspiration.

The speaker furnished upon vital information regarding the courses, degrees, universities, and career opportunities concerning the field of commerce. He was glad to see that his energy was reciprocated by the students as they also contributed to make the session lively and interesting. All the doubts of the students were cleared right then and there by the speaker. Towards the end of the session, the students were thankful to the speaker for the spectacular presentation and the school for providing with such an opportunity. Mr. Sriram Gopalakrishnan’s efforts were acknowledged by the students and the school. Hence as a token of appreciation he was offered a memento and Ms. Anju extended the note of thanks on behalf of the School Chairman Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, the Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, the Vice Principal, Ms. Albin Daisy, and the Supervisor Ms. Rajni Menon. The session was unequivocally informative, and the students benefited immensely.
