Bhavans IES Celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Unity in diversity is better than unity in similarity  

Indian Education School, Bhavans Kuwait, celebrated the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on 31 October 2022, under the auspices of the Department of Social Science to mark the 147th birth anniversary of Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The school conducted a surfeit of enriching and rejuvenating activities to create a spirit of unity and patriotism among the students and to make them understand the valuable contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel- the Bismarck of India to the Indian society.

The eventful day began with a spectacular school assembly. Mr. T Premkumar, the Principal of Indian Education School, delivered an intriguing speech on the importance of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’. He delineated the contribution of Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who through his tremendous leadership skills integrated 562 self-governing princely states into the Union of India. The principal also administered the Integrity Pledge with an urge to preserve the unity, integrity, and internal security of the nation.

Fiona Anna Benoy of Grade 7 delivered a thought-provoking speech on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The students of grade 5 dressed up in traditional attires of all states of India and presented a tableau depicting National Integrity. The students of grade 6 made colourful posters portraying the national unity of India. The students of grade 7 wrote poems on unity in diversity. The students of grades 8 and 9 partook in collage making on ‘United India’ and grade 10 participated in essay and slogan writings on ‘Unity in Diversity’. The aura of mellifluous patriotic songs by students enchanted everyone. The event was meticulously coordinated by Ms. Chitra. The Department of Physical Education organised the Unity Run and witnessed many students participating in the event and making it a great success.

The epoch-making day ignited patriotic fervour and the feeling of oneness in everyone. It also gave an opportunity for the young Bhavanites to unleash their latent talents and ignite the spirit of patriotism and a sense of collective belongingness.
