IES KUWAIT CORDIALLY WELCOMES ITS NEW BATCH OF GRADE 10 AND 12 STUDENTS
As an official welcome to the new batches of grade 10 and 12 students for the academic session 2023-2024, Indian Education School, Kuwait organised special assemblies in the school auditorium on Sunday 5th March 2023. The class coordinators of grades 10 and 12 along with their team of teachers presented a model assembly to create a culture of positivity and inclusivity that supports academic achievement and personal growth in their students.
The assembly for grade 10 began with the Kuwait National Anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Hajira Banu, the Head of the Department of Social Science, English prayer by Ms Leena Praveen, Coordinator of Grade 10, and the IES Pledge was administered by Ms. Hima Nirmal, Subject Coordinator of the Department of English. The thought for the day was read out by Mr. Pratheep Kumar, a faculty member of Mathematics, which centered on the importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving academic success. The speaker encouraged the students to set high goals for themselves and to remain determined in the face of challenges. The news and updates were read by Mr. Vivek, a faculty member of Mathematics.
The programme commenced for the students of grade 12 with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Soha Parvez Sheliya of 12 B, followed by a prayer song by Ms. Sindhu Ashok, Head of the Department of Biology. Adding to the spiritual ambience, a mellifluous shloka was recited by Sriranjani Tirumalasetti, translated by Achyut Madhusudan Nair of 12 B. Ms. Reny Linton, faculty member of the Department of Physics delivered an inspirational thought for the year to embolden the children of the new batches. IES pledge was administered by Ms. Deepasree T C, the Head of the Department of Chemistry.
The Principal, Mr. T Premkumar in his interactive address reminded the importance of the 4Ds; dedication, determination, discipline, and devotion in a student’s life. He said that our determination is manifested in our actions and our true strength is revealed only by how much we can accomplish when time is limited. He advised the children to maintain a regular revision of daily portions and to hold on to their life goals. The Vision and Mission of the school were presented to them by Ms. Sindhu Ashok, the Head of the Department of Biology and Ms. Hima Nirmal. Vice Principals, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Mr. Binoy Mathew read and explained the code of conduct to be maintained in the school campus. The students were described the standard of discipline expected of them and the consequences of failing to respect the rules of the school.
The assembly concluded with various games and extracurricular activities, highlighting the school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education that fosters creativity and teamwork. Mr. Samuel Hani Mod, faculty of the Department of Economics and Ms. Hima Nirmal, coordinated the games for the students of grades 12 and 10 respectively.
The events of the special day which came to a satisfying closure were organised by the Class Coordinators of grades 10 and 12, Ms. Leena Parveen and Ms. Aliuska Lawrence under the guidance and help of the senior leadership team and the class teachers of the respective classes. The emcees of the day were Ms. Hima Nirmal and Ms. Aliuska Lawrence.
Overall, the special assemblies for grades 10 and 12 were a powerful reminder of the importance of education in empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. By instilling values of hard work, determination, and respect, the school is creating a community of impactful learners who are poised to succeed in all aspects of their lives.
