Stellar Performance by IES Basketball Team in 8th IBA Tournament!

Whether it’s swimming, chess, badminton or basketball, the young champs of Indian Education School, Bhavans Kuwait, prove their valor in every arena. It’s no wonder that the school is renowned for the outstanding performance of young Bhavanites in the field of Sports. The zestful and vibrant basketball team of IES put up an outstanding performance in the 8th IBA Basketball Tournament 2023 organized by Indian Basketball Association Kuwait. Their stellar performance further strengthens the school’s hard-won reputation for producing well-trained and competitive youngsters across all age groups.

Fifty teams from various schools in Kuwait participated in the eight-day tournament which ended on Saturday, April 1, 2023. In the Under 14 Boys’ category, Team IES emerged as winners. Jeevanth Sargunam received the most valuable player award and Ameen Haseen received the Most Promising Player award. In the Under 19 Boys’ category, our team bagged the runners up title. Anand Suresh George received the Most Promising Player award.

Chairman, Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Principal Mr. T. Premkumar, Vice Principals and the Head of the Physical Education department, Dr. Murugaiyan, extolled the winners for their relentless effort and excellent performance. While congratulating the team, the principal advised the basketball teams to continue practicing wholeheartedly and keep setting higher goals for them to achieve. He appreciated the team coach Mr. Mathialagan and physical education teachers for their committed effort and excellent coaching.
