FIDA ANCY OF IES EMERGES AS THE NUMERO UNO IN THE INTER SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION HELD AT INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, MANGAF

Fida Ancy , a grade 11 student at Indian Education School, Kuwait, emerged as the champion of the Inter-School Debate Competition held at India International School in commemoration of its revered founder and chairman, Dr. PA Ibrahim Haji. The competition was held on May 5, 2023 and it revolved around the crucial topic of media impartiality, with the motion 'Is Media truly Independent or Biased'. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from 13 Indian schools in Kuwait, who presented their arguments with conviction and clarity.

However, it was Fida Ancy's persuasive arguments that secured the coveted first position, leaving 25 other participants behind. Her ability to articulate her points clearly and succinctly, while also responding adeptly to her opponents' arguments, impressed the judges and the audience alike. Her debating skills were further highlighted during the grand award ceremony on May 6, 2023, where she was felicitated as the champion and recipient of the first prize in the presence of distinguished personalities such as Sajeev Peter, Editor of Kuwait Times, Rivan D’Souza, Editor of The Times, and Adv. Rajesh Sagar, Legal Adviser of Kuwait Aya Ways.

Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal of IES, Kuwait, applauded Fida for her remarkable achievement and expressed his pride in her debating skills. He also emphasized the importance of healthy debates and discussions on crucial societal issues, encouraging the student community to participate actively.
