On the evening of September 2, 2023, Al Saad Indian School in Al Ain was aglow with the grandeur of AMRITANJALI 2023, a remarkable celebration marking the 10th Founder's Day of Al Saad Indian School and the 5th Founder's Day of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School. These two institutions stand as revered pillars of the Bhavans Middle East legacy, symbolizing educational excellence. Adding celestial charm to this evening was the celebration of the 75th birthday of our esteemed Chairman, Sri. N. K. Ramachandran Menon. The confluence of these significant milestones promised an evening filled with reflection, jubilation, and aspiration.

Distinguished guests who graced the occasion included the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East and Founder of the schools, Sri. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, and other dignitaries such as the First Lady of Bhavans Middle East, Smt. Sudha Ramachandran, Vice Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, CA Sooraj Ramachandran, Director Of Bhavans Middle East, CA Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, Director of Bhavans Kuwait, Mr. Krishnadas Menon, Principal of Private International English School, Abu Dhabi, Mr. Suresh Balakrishnan, Principal of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Mr. K. Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School celebrate 10th Founders’ Day

The evening commenced with a soul-stirring Quran recitation by Aadil Bin Shameer of grade 12, leading the audience into an aura of reverence and reflection, followed by the UAE National Anthem. The lamp-lighting ceremony by the Honourable Chairman, accompanied by the guests of honour and other dignitaries, illuminated the path ahead. Then the student choirs from both schools mesmerized the audience with a prayer song, followed by the Bhavans Anthem.

Mr. Sahaya Jeans, Junior HoD, Department of English, Al Saad Indian School, skillfully wove the threads of the evening in his welcome address, setting the stage for what promised to be a beautiful event. This was followed by a celestial performace by the dance teachers of both schools, Ms. Pooja, Ms. Sindhu, and Ms. Aswathy, who invoked divine blessings and celebrated the spirit of their foundations through ethereal dance performances. Their graceful movements and rhythmic patterns paid tribute to the milestones achieved and the dreams yet to be realized.

The Vice Chairman, CA Sooraj Ramachandran, conveyed his best wishes to the teachers, students, and faculty while thanking parents for their support and cooperation, which has enabled Bhavans Al Ain to exceed expectations. The principals of Al Saad Indian School, Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, and PIES Abudhabi shared their thoughts during the occasion, reflecting on the growth of Bhavans schools under the able guidance of the Chairman. They also extended warm greetings and prayers on his upcoming 75th birthday, which falls on September 4. The inception of a new school in Sharjah on his birthday was also acknowledged and celebrated.

The Bhavans Al Ain choir sang a heartfelt birthday song in honour of Chairman Sri. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Nilkamal Joshi, draped him with a ponnada in honour of his immeasurable contributions. Mr. Suhail Saheed and Mr. Yasal Arab who represented the VPS Group honoured the Chairman with a memento as their token of love and appreciation. In recognition of the Chairman's exceptional leadership and dedication, both principals of Bhavans Al Ain presented a curated assortment of precious stones as tokens of appreciation, specially chosen to celebrate his multifaceted qualities and achievements.

Two heart-touching creative paper artwork adorned with birthday wishes from the students of both the schools were handed over to the Chairman by the respective Head Boy and Head Girl. Director of Bhavans Kuwait, Mr. Krishnadas Menon, presented a sapling to the Chairman as a token of reverence. In his speech, the Chairman expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes and prayers, and emphasized the pivotal role played by parents and teachers in the growth of Bhavans Middle East. During this occasion, he also honoured several members of the Bhavans Al Ain family- Dr. Bhavna Gupta, Principal of ASIS, Ms. Sini S. Nair, SEN Coordinator, Ms. Shyama Sunand, Department of Commerce, Ms. Divya S. Nair, Department of English, Ms. Laila Hameed from the KG section-for their dedicated service and successful completion of 5 years as Bhavanites.

The Guests of Honour - Dr. Nilkamal Joshi, Mr. Suhail Saheed, and Mr. Yasal Arab - received tokens of appreciation from the Vice Chairman. In his speech, the Vice Principal of Al Saad Indian School emphasized the significance of Founder's Day as a celebration of family bonds. The Director, CA Divya Rajesh Ramachandran in her speech shared the journey of Bhavans Al Ain schools, highlighting the introduction of skill subjects for grades 9 to 12, and commended the success of the schools’ 12 different clubs. She also pledged to provide excellent education and promised continued efforts in this direction.

A series of cultural programmes dedicated to the esteemed Chairman followed, showcasing the vibrant diversity and unity of Bhavans schools. Teachers of Bhavans Al Ain, led by Ms. Ria Rose, presented a spectacular dance, representing the infectious energy teachers bring into the lives of students. Special photographs of school activities starting from its inception added to the beauty of the performance. Ms. Kousalya and her team, along with grade 12 students of ASIS, presented a Kathak performance, followed by a fusion of Bhangra and Western music by grade 10 students of ASIS, showcasing cultural integration through dance.

The blend of North and South Indian cultures in Bhavans schools was beautifully showcased by Ms. Shifanath and her team through a captivating Oppana performance set to a North Indian song, defying expectations by blending Oppana with Taal song. The students of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School presented an excellent dance performance showcasing different dance styles, from classical to contemporary, from South and North India.

Bhavans Al Ain also celebrated Kerala culture through various programmes, including a melodious performance by a mother-daughter duo - Ms. Arya and her daughter, Rithika Rajesh of Grade 4 and a dance performance by Ms. Divya & team of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom showcasing Kerala's artistic legacy in a unique style, and nostalgic tunes celebrating Kerala culture. A powerful dance performance led by Ms. Divya S. Nair captured the essence of women's strength, resilience, and identity through the song "Singa Pennae."

The programme also highlighted the student-teacher relationship, with Bhavanite teachers adapting lessons to create inclusive classes for their student community. Innovative Kathak performances by grade 12 and 10 female students along with their teachers led by Ms. Geeta showcased a unique blend of Western music and storytelling grace. The performances were preceded by the felicitation of senior teachers -Ms. Suneetha Manojkumar, Mr. Haneefa Kanichattu, Ms. Parminder kaur- who extended their warm greetings and prayers to the chairman and expressed their gratitude for their wonderful experience at Bhavans.

The programme also dedicated a segment to parents, with teachers of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School headed by Ms. Merlin and Ms. Surya presenting a heartfelt journey into the realm of paternal and maternal affection. These performances were preceded by the felicitation of parent representatives- Mrs. Sabeera Haris, Dr. Seema Pankaj Tardeja, Mr. Biju Karuthedathu- who expressed gratitude towards the school community and extended birthday greetings to the Chairman.

In the culminating segment of the cultural programme, heartfelt emotions reached their pinnacle as it was dedicated to our revered Chairman. Here, the Director of Bhavans Middle East, CA Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, along with her dedicated team, orchestrated a performance that beautifully embodied the cherished concept of Matha Pitha Guru Daivam. This soul-stirring performance went beyond mere words, delving deep into the profound influence that our Chairman, Sri. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, and the First Lady of Bhavans, Smt. Sudha Ramachandran, have had as guides and divine forces in the life of our lives. The emotional resonance of this tribute was heightened as the Director warmly embraced the Chairman and the First Lady during the performance, symbolizing the deep gratitude and admiration felt by the Bhavans community. Adding to the sentiment, a touching visual element was incorporated, with a montage of photographs chronicling the Chairman's journey from childhood to the present day scrolling behind the dance performance. These images provided a poignant backdrop, illustrating the remarkable life and legacy of our beloved Chairman. This was followed by a vivacious showcase of musical genres presented by teachers of both schools. The grand finale featured all teachers from both schools, department-wise, dancing to the song "Ohm Shanthi Ohm," celebrating unity and the strength of the teaching community.

The programme concluded with a tribute to the values and vision of the school's founder, carrying them forward with the same spirit of unity and dedication. A delightful sadya was also arranged for the staff, preceded by a cake-cutting ceremony in connection with the Chairman's birthday. The evening of AMRITANJALI 2023 will be etched in the memory of all those present as a celebration of milestones, culture, unity, and dedication, resonating with the spirit of Bhavans Middle East.
