Fashion for a Cause
On October 28, 2023, Private International English School Abu Dhabi hosted a remarkable event, 'Fashion for a Cause', illuminating hope in the battle against cancer. Dr. Mudhasir Ahmad, a distinguished Specialist in Medical Oncology from LLH Hospital & Lifecare Hospital, Musaffah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The auditorium was adorned with ribbons symbolizing various aspects of the fight against cancer. Ms. Geetha Chandran, Head of the Primary English Department, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the invitees. Master Mihir of Grade 9 infused the evening with energy as the event's host.
Mr. Suresh Balakrishnan, the esteemed Principal, emphasized the power of unity in orchestrating this exceptional event. Dr. Mudhasir Ahmad's address, powered with a presentation, shed light on the underlying causes of cancers, reiterating the paramount importance of prevention.
The event commenced with the lighting of the Candles of Hope, symbolizing a new beginning. From the spirited Kindergarteners to the gorgeous grade 9 students, along with their parents, all took to the ramp, uniting for the noble cause of cancer awareness. The ramp showcased a spectrum of colours, each representing a different form of cancer.
Vice Principal Ms. Mini Ramesh, Assistant Vice Principal Ms. Salini Sobha, Ms. Janarajani Malalagama, and Headmistress Ms. Vanitha Walter were all in attendance, offering their support.
Ms. Amrita Singh, a global fashion influencer and model, took part in the ramp show, using her platform to advocate for a meaningful cause.
The fashion event was choreographed by the renowned experts, Mr. Ajay Ashok and Ms. Susan Stanley, infusing an extra layer of elegance and flair to the evening. Their expertise brought a captivating rhythm to the runway, turning each step into a powerful statement of solidarity against cancer.
In this intricate tapestry of hope, threads of charity were woven, recognizing that every step taken, and gesture of kindness extended, brings us one step closer to a world free from the shadows of cancer.
