Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi to get engaged to Shahid Afridi’s daughter

Father of Shaheen Afridi, Ayaz Khan said that the family had asked Shahid for his daughter's hand and had received a positive response.

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter is likely to get engaged to Pakistani left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, according to Pakistani media.

A journalist, Ihtisham Ul Haq said on Twitter, “With permission from both families, I would like to clarify the engagement rumours between Shaheen Afridi and the daughter of Shahid Afridi. The proposal has been accepted; it is thought that a formal engagement will be done within 2 yrs,following the completion of her education.”

Ihtisham also said, “The reason behind this tweet is to clarify the suspicion caused by social media. Respect to both families; please do await their own official announcements as they are currently in talks. I would like to request all individuals to respect their privacy during this auspicious time.”

Father of Shaheen Afridi, Ayaz Khan said that the family had asked Shahid for his daughter's hand and had received a positive response.

It was learned that Shahid is yet to officially confirm the news to the media.

In February 2020, Shahid Afridi shared a photograph with the newest member of the family.

Afridi was blessed with a baby girl, the fifth daughter for the veteran cricketer.

Afridi said, “The Almighty’s infinite blessings & mercy are upon me... already having been granted 4 wonderful daughters I have now been blessed with a 5th, Alhamdulillah. Sharing this good news with my well-wishers.”

The teenager recorded Pakistan's best-ever World Cup bowling figures with a scintillating spell of 6-35 win over Bangladesh at Lord's.

Afridi made his mark in a domestic match in September 2017, claiming eight wickets for just 39 runs in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy game.

Despite that victory in their last group match, Pakistan failed to qualify for the semi-finals as they had an inferior net run-rate compared to fourth-placed New Zealand, who also had 11 points from nine matches.
