T20 WC 2021 semi-finalists: England to take on New Zealand in 1st SF; Pakistan up against Australia in second

T20 cricket is all about being fearless and if there's a team that has several match-winners in the side, it's England.

With New Zealand's comprehensive 8-wicket win over Afghanistan in Match No. 40 of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, all the suspense and drama came to an end as the four finalists were decided for the mega event. Touted to be one of the favourites, Virat Kohli & Co. will head back home after playing the remaining match against Namibia which has now become inconsequential following New Zealand's win over Afghanistan.

Babar Azam and his men have been right on the money from the word go and the Green Army has looked like an unstoppable force in the tournament where they have won 5 out of 5 matches. The Men in Green made a huge statement right in their first match of the tournament where they registered their maiden win over arch-rivals India in World Cup history. There was no looking back following the 10-wicket victory against India and Pakistan have entered the semis as the only unbeaten team in the tournament. They will take on Australia in the 2nd semi-final.

Despite their poor record of late in T20 internationals, the Aussies showed once again why it's foolish to write them off in an ICC tournament. David Warner coming back to form has been a huge positive for Aaron Finch and his men and the second-semi final between Australia and Pakistan is expected to be a nail-biter. Australia's only loss in the tournament came against England.

T20 cricket is all about being fearless and if there's a team that has several match-winners in the side, it's England. The 2019 World Champions have been ruthless in their approach in most of the matches. Despite a heartbreaking injury to Jason Roy, the side still has a plethora of players, including openers Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler - who can change the course of a match in a few overs.

Another ICC tournament, another semi-final berth for Kane Williamson-led New Zealand. After a 5-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the opening match, the Black Caps were back to winnings ways which started with a comprehensive 8-wicket win against India. The Kiwis went on to defeat Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan to seal their semis berth. While England are one of the title contenders, as they have done on so many occasions in the past, NZ are a team that can easily pull off a surprise.

At this moment, it's difficult to predict who will go on to win the tournament as T20 is a format where anything can happen on a given day. The cricket fans can rest assured of some breathtaking cricketing action in the next few days. The two semi-finals will be played on November 10 and 11 respectively followed by the final which will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on November 14.
