Tucker, the Golden Retriever influencer, earns over Rs 8 crore a year
Social media can make anyone a star overnight. If people online like you and what you are doing, they accept you wholeheartedly and then there's no looking back. We have seen several examples of the same. People like Ayesha (the viral Pakistani girl), Yashraj Mukhate (Rasode Main Kaun Tha?) or Ranu Mondal, these are just some of the people who have found overnight fame.
But, have you ever heard of a dog who earns approximately Rs 8,28,46,400? Yes, you read that right. Since he was 2, Tucker, a golden retriever, owned by Courtney Budzyn and Mike, earns from sponsored ads. “A YouTube-paid post can be anywhere from $40,000 to $60,000 (approx Rs 33,12,020 to 49,68,030) for a 30-minute pre-roll,” said Tucker’s owner Courtney Budzyn. “Instagram, we make about $20,000 (approx Rs 16,58,282) for anywhere from three to eight stories," Courtney told New York Post.
She and her husband Mike were civil engineers before Tucker. The couple quit their job to manage Tucker and his puppy Todd full-time.
Moreover, Courtney made an Instagram page for Tucker the day she got him at 8 weeks old in June 2018. In July, the doggo's first video went viral, as per the New York Post.
“We gave him an ice cube and he was just pawing at it. I was floored that so many people were as interested in my dog as me. By the time he was 6 months old, he had 60,000 followers...It was insane," Courtney said.
Tucker has over 3 million followers on Instagram, 4.3 million on Facebook, 62,400 on Twitter and 5.1 million on YouTube.
