After launching the brand new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in 2020, Royal Enfield is all set to launch the 2021 model year Royal Enfield Himalayan today (February 11). The announcement about the launch was made by the country’s major vehicle manufacturer through a short teaser on its Twitter handle on recently with the caption, “Coming right at you from the heights we call home”.

Even though the company has not revealed much about the 2021 model yet, what we know so far is that the new Himalayan will come with a host of upgrades which should make it more beneficial for a traveler.

What are the specifications and features of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 2021 model?

Recently, images of the bike’s brochure was leaked online which gave us a clear view of the changes that the model will feature.The new model is believed to be get new colour schemes. While the dual-tone colours look white in the leaked images, it is actually expected to be a light shade of silver. The bike will also be available in new Granite Black and Pine Green colour schemes. As per reports, the company also might discontinue the solid white colour scheme, but it will be confirmed once the bike is launched.

The new Himalayan is expected to come with new panels, a new extension on the front mudguard and a base plate for mounting luggage at the back and the test mule of the updated Himalayan will also feature an additional pod on the right side of its existing digi-analog instrument cluster. The design of the panel and fonts have got an update and will get the same Tripper navigation system which was first seen on the Meteor 350. So far, we have not noticed any changes made to the engine. The windscreen of the bike also appears to be a slightly taller and wider unit.

The new Himalayan will also feature a top plate on the rear carrier, allowing for easier luggage mounting. Adding to it there will be a matte black extension on the front mudguard that gives the bike rugged aesthetics.

What is the price of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 2021 model?

Keeping in mind the new features and updates of the superbike, we expect the price of the new RE Himalayan’s price to remain more or less same and could start in the vicinity of Rs 2 lakh — basically a definite hike from the current starting price of Rs 1.91 lakh- Rs 1.96 lakh.
