It has been a few days since we last spoke about the Mahindra XUV700 and considering it is one of the most highly-anticipated upcoming SUVs in India, that feels a little weird. Anyway, so we decided to remedy that -- with some brand new information about the car's possible launch date. Well, not the exact Mahindra XUV700 India launch date, but by when we can expect Mahindra & Mahindra to offer it for retail in the country. So far, all we knew was that the upcoming Mahindra SUV would be launched in India this year. Folks, now we also seem to have an estimated ETA: Word has it that the new Mahindra XUV700 will be launched in India in October 2021.

Set to square off against other three-row SUVs such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, etc., Mahindra XUV700 will feature a silhouette reminscent of the XUV500. The design will be rounded off by elements like a new grille, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, flush-fitting door handles, LED taillamps, new alloy wheels, etc. Expect the interior to be fully-loaded with modern features, such as a large single unit touchscreen with split displays for infotainment and the instrument cluster, etc.

Nonetheless, we can confirm the upcoming Mahindra SUV in India will be offered with a choice between both petrol as well as diesel engines. And if we were to guess about the specific, we believe Mahindra would offer the 2021 XUV700 with a more powerful iteration of the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Mahindra Thar. As for the diesel motor -- we reckon it will an all-new 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk motor. For transmission options, the list will include both manual as well as automatic transmission options.
