India-made Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 goes global, gets launched in the UK at this price
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been launched in the market of UK at a starting price of GBP 6,799 (which converts to Rs 6.75 lakh). The entry-level Astral range has been priced at GBP 6,799, and is available for purchase in three colour options, while the Celestial series is the most expensive to purchase. The bike was introduced in the Indian market last month at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Super Meteor 650 motorcycle runs on a 648 cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine which is rated to develop 46.3bhp of maximum power output at 7,250rpm, along with a peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5,650rpm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle uses the same 650 cc twin platform as seen on company's previous Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 bikes. However, the bike uses a completely new frame and swingarm, for a much lower center of gravity.
The suspension kit on the bike includes 43 mm upside-down fork featuring 120 mm travel at the front, which is backed up with twin shock absorbers with 5-step pre-load with 101 mm rear travel. The bike rolls on 19-inch front alloy wheel and 16-inch rear wheel. For safety, it also uses discs at either end paired with dual-channel ABS.
