Chocolates of a popular brand worth Rs1.7m stolen in India

According to Rajesh some boxes of biscuits were also stolen along with chocolates from his old house in the Chinhat area in Lucknow.

Chocolates are definitely a weakness for many and people with a sweet tooth can go to any length to lay their hands on them.

But some yet-to-be-identified miscreants took their craving to criminal level and stole 150 cartons of chocolate bars worth Rs1.7m from a godown in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident, which took place in Lucknow, has left the godown owner Rajendra Singh Siddhu in a state of utter shock, according to local media report.

Rajender told police that the chocolate stock had arrived a couple of days ago and was meant to be distributed to the retailers in the city.

According to Rajesh some boxes of biscuits were also stolen along with chocolates from his old house in the Chinhat area in Lucknow.

The thieves had also taken away the digital video recorder of CCTVs.

He was using his old house as a godown since shifting to new apartment in Vibhuti Khand in Gomti Nagar.

In his FIR Rajesh has said that on Tuesday, he got a call from a neighbour in Chinhat who informed him that the door of his house was lying broken.

Upon reaching the house he found that the entire godown was empty.

A neighbour told him that he heard a pick-up truck in the night and thought that he had come to take away some stock.
