'Double loss': Zomato shareholder gets only salan after ordering 'inter-city' biryani
Using delivery apps to order food is quite common in the country. While in most cases, delivery apps do their best to cater to the customer's needs, there have been incidents of faulty service. Recently, one man decided to try Zomato's latest intercity meal delivery service. However, it did not go as expected.
Gurugram-based Prateek Kanwal, who is also a Zomato stockholder, placed an order for a biryani from a restaurant in Hyderabad. When he received his food package, he was disappointed. Instead of the whole order, Kanwal was only delivered a portion of salan. The man took to Twitter to share his story.
He wrote, "Ordered chicken biryani from Hotel Shadab using Zomato interstate legend service and all I got was a small box of salan. Deepinder Goyal: This seemed like a great idea, but my dinner plans are up in the air now. Now, you owe me a Biryani in Gurgaon!"
Kanwal also posted a picture of the salan pack that he received. He also urged the Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, to look into the newly launched inter-city delivery service known as "Legends".
Further, the man tweeted, "It's a double loss for me. As a customer and as a shareholder."
Zomato was quick to fix Kanwal's issue. Not only did they locate his biryani, but they also delivered him an extra portion as an apology. Kanwal took to Twitter to appreciate the gesture. He posted a picture of the food and wrote, "Credit where it’s due! Sushant from customer service and product head of @zomato interstate legends not only tracked my Biryani but also sent me an extra Biryani from @biryanibykilo! Issue has been resolved @deepigoyal! Atleast, as a shareholder I feel good about customer service."
