A man named Ryan Mercer ate pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 30 days and lost weight.

Let's face it. A major chunk of the population all over the world is in deep love with pizza. And, if you are one of them, then we have some great news for you. So, a man named Ryan Mercer claimed that he lost weight by having pizza thrice a day for 30 days straight. Yes, you read that right. Read on further to find out more.

Ryan Mercer is a personal trainer by profession. He claimed that he ate 10 slices of pizza a day, divided between breakfast, lunch and dinner. And that too for a month. The man from Northern Ireland gave up everything but pizza, according to LadBible. He also ditched takeaways and made the pizzas himself to make a point about calorie deficits and health.

"January is a tough month for people when it comes to fitness goals. I aimed to highlight not only fat loss, about calories in and calories out but that it's also not about restriction. We don't have to restrict our favourite foods to get results and I also wanted to encourage more people to prepare their own food," Ryan said.

Ryan also described his typical diet with seven to 10 portions of fruit and vegetables with lots of protein. "I had two pitta pizzas and one larger dough-based pizza per day, this equated to roughly 10 slices per day. The hardest part of the entire diet was the preparation, he added.

On the run for 16 years, this pizza maker turned out to be an Italian mafia killer

"Pizza is one of my all-time favourite foods, so I enjoyed eating it all month, although I did ensure I had a large variety of different pizzas to give myself some variance," he claimed.

As for the money, Ryan claimed that he actually managed to save as the pizzas only cost him 10 Euros, which is approximately Rs 885.8 per day. "Additionally, I spent around 3 Euros (Rs 266 approx) per day on snacks."

"This was a carefully planned dietary strategy. I designed a system, and this is what got me to my goal. Daily calorie intake was set at 1,800 to 2,100 Monday to Friday, 2,700k calories Saturday and Sunday, daily protein target 140g per day, daily fruit and vegetable portion goal, seven portions minimum per day," Ryan explained.

However, Ryan said that every body is different and the diet should only be used if it suits a person's individual needs.
