Eatery sparks outrage after putting up 'now hiring non-stupid people' job advert
A pizza shop has gone viral and left locals and internet users outraged after installing a job advert posted that reads - 'now hiring non-stupid people'.
The tongue-in-cheek advert outside Santino's Pizza i Ohio that received more criticism than praise from locals and netizens. People said things like, 'everything can't be a joke'.
The advert is supposedly a reference to the struggle the pizza jint has faced in recruiting the right people. The sign was actually put up a few months ago, but it got attention online after a photo of it was posted on a social media platform.
Some users actually found the advert funny. But most were left outraged.
A user wrote, "Why do managers feel they aren’t a part of the solution? Why not help others learn how to do their jobs better and offer up coaching and mentoring?"
"Seems a more humanitarian solution would solve a couple of the problems the sign eludes to," wrote another.
There were some who saw the funny side of the advert.
"I totally understand. Very hard to find young people that can actually function in the work place," wrote a user.
Following the online outrage, a member of the family that owns the restaurant told media that the advert was put up as they outlet had been spending money and time on training new employees who weren't good enough.
"There is no work ethic behind them, so that’s the meaning behind the ‘non-stupid'," said Jayedn Dunigan.
