That's what a new viral butter recipe has done on TikTok.
While it is quite viral on TikTok as of now, it could soon take over other platforms as it involves the use of a very popular alcoholic drink.
TikTokers will already know what we're getting at. Those without the app, might also have an idea
Last year, a food trend involving butter boards showed up on everyone's social feeds.
Butter board was a culinary activity but many users called it unhygienic and unhealthy. The trend was quite straightforward.
A person smears mounds of butter on a chopping board and then garnishes the spread with sauces, spices, meat, garlic, and fruits. Basically, whatever topping they can find. Once that is done, the blend is scooped up with a loaf of bread.
'Vodka Butter' is not the same but not too different. The trend began after it was shared by Chef and food blogger Carolina Gelen.
All she did was combine the spread and spirit and dubbed her creation "vodka butter.". In an interview to Fox New Digital, she said she was inspired by dirty martinis to created the vodka butter dip.
"I love a good dirty martini, so I tried making a dirty martini butter with green olives, vodka and butter — but the olives ended up being overpowering flavor-wise. So I tried the recipe again, without olives, and the result was amazing," she said.
Vodka Butter is nothing but butter infused with vodka. It combines one stick of butter with a shot of vodka in a food processor or blender. The idea is to whip the mixture to a velvety texture.
The finished product is a creamy butter spread that can be served with meals and appetizers. The amount of butter and vodka can vary as per requirement.
Gelen first made her vodka butter in December 2022 to ring in the new year.
Her TikTok video that documented the process collected over 1.4 million views. Now, scores of users are making the dip in their own style.
