Meet MBA Food Wali: 30-year-old woman sets up stall on scooter in Bengal's Siliguri
From MBA Chaiwala to B.tech Pani puri wala, the streets of India have witnessed food stalls and eateries opened by entrepreneurs pursuing higher studies. Now a woman who did her MBA in Human Resources has shattered the glass ceiling by setting up a food stall on a scooter. Named 'MBA Food Wali’, the stall was set up by a woman in West Bengal's Silguri.
Identified as Fatima, the 30-year-old was a resident of Uttar Pradesh where she completed her MBA. After marriage, she moved to Siliguri. Now she lives in the Matigara area of the district and has left her job to set up a business near Baghajatin Park last week.
Fatima set up the food stall on a scooter that she owns. Her stall is operational every day from 7 pm to 10:30 pm. She sells homemade food in her stall, which she cooks by herself, maintaining perfect hygiene.
Speaking to India Today, Fatima said, "Every woman should have their own identity. I used to do a job, but after that, I didn't get time for my family. So I left the job to look after my family and now I am doing this business. I did my MBA in 2011. In my stall you will get all the homemade food. These are all made by maintaining 100 percent hygiene."
Items like Kheer, Dahi Vada, Golgappa, and Chat are available in her stall. Fatima changes her food items based on the demand of people. She cooks and sells these items by herself as well. The price of one plate of dahi vada is Rs. 25, golgappa chat is Rs. 25, and kheer is priced at Rs. 20.
When asked about the unique name of her stall, Fatima added, "I have expertise at cooking. I know how to make tasty food. That is why I am doing this and this MBA name is already on the hit list. So I want to use this name."
