Following the welcome address by Ms. Preethi K. Nair, the School Counsellor, the session proceeded with a focus on the queries raised by the students. A clear plan of action was laid before the students on how their concerns could be resolved. Students were enlightened on how to identify and handle stressful and confusing life situations using a four-step process encapsulated by the acronym ARCH (Awareness, Reflection, Communication, Health). Dr. Seema Girija Lal helped the students understand the various factors that affect one’s mental, emotional, and physical health. She assured the students that experiencing emotions such as anxiety, sadness, and anger, is not to be feared as they are part of life and emphasised the importance of mental hygiene to properly handle these emotional experiences. The importance of self-motivation, self-care and healthy social interaction was also reiterated.

As a token of gratitude, a certificate of appreciation was shared with Dr. Girija Lal on behalf of the Management and Senior Leadership Team of the school. The session ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Farah Noorjahan Sahim of grade 12 who thanked the speaker for her insightful and inspiring presentation.
