Woman upset with 'skin-to-skin' order send condoms to judge
The woman, identified as Devshri Trivedi, uploaded a video of herself on YouTube, where she was packing around 150 condoms in 12 packets.
There was a massive uproar after Justice Pushpa Ganediwala released the controversial 'skin-to-skin' verdict. Upset over the same verdict, a political analyst from Gujarat sent a packet of condoms to the judge stating that her order sent "wrong signals to the criminals in the society".
The woman, identified as Devshri Trivedi, uploaded a video of herself on YouTube, where she was packing around 150 condoms in 12 packets. On February 13, the woman sent the condom packets to various addressed in Nagpur along with the HC registry and judge's official residence.
The woman also sent some packets to the principal bench of the HC in Mumbai. Trivedi said that the parcels were received by a man named Haridas at HC registry in Nagpur at 5.11 pm on Monday, The Times of India reported. Sanjay Bharuka, registrar (administration) said, "We're not supposed to comment on such issues, as it is out of our jurisdiction."
Lawyer Shreerang Bhandarkar condemned the move and said that it defames the judge. He said that the lawyers will file an FIR against the woman if the registry does not take appropriate action.
Trivedi, however, said, "Condoms are a mark of a symbol on the judge's skin-to-skin verdict where she let off a man accused of groping the breast of a 12-year-sold girl without removing her clothes. She ruled that as there's no skin contact, his act doesn't come under the purview of sexual assault. I found it bizarre and can understand the pain of the girl and her family."
