Suvendu Adhikari will defeat Mamata Banerjee: Amit Shah after holding roadshow in Nandigram

Actor Mithun Chakraborty is also expected to participate in a rally in the Nandigram constituency.

With the poll campaigning at Nandigram reaching its crescendo, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow in the high-profile constituency in Purba Medinipur district which is witnessing an intense contest between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her protege-turned-foe Suvendu Adhikari.

After participating in the roadshow, Shah addressed a press conference, saying that there is a huge support for the BJP in Nandigram and Adhikari will emerge as the winner against Banerjee.

The roadshow was attended by huge number of BJP supporters. Notably, Adhikari has vowed to defeat the Trinamool Congress supremo by over 50,000 votes else will quit politics.

As the BJP's roadshow kickstarted, Shah and Adhikari were seen atop a lorry and waving to the supporters of the saffron party.

Thousands of supporters took part in the rally. Residents were seen outside their homes to witness the show. Shah and Adhikari waved at the spectators and showered flower petals on the participants of the roadshow.

The roadshow passed through the narrow streets amid chants of 'Jai Shri Ram', 'Narendra Modi Zindabad' and 'Amit Shah Zindabad'.

Actor Mithun Chakraborty is also expected to participate in a rally in the Nandigram constituency.

With just two days ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal election 2021, BJP has deputed Shah, Chakraborty and other leaders to lead the poll campaign in Nandigram. Meanwhile, Banerjee reached the Assembly constituency on March 28 and will stay put till the voting is over.

Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty, who has a huge fan following in West Bengal, will also conduct a roadshow in Nandigram ahead of polling.

The polling for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections will be conducted on April 1.

The high-voltage election campaign witnessed a bitter war of words between Banerjee and Adhikari on the day of Holi.
