BJP claims to have found the author of ‘Congress toolkit’, asks ‘will Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi reply?’

This may be noted that Congress’ research cell head Rajeev Gowda had yesterday called the toolkit “fake”.

A day after Congress accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of propagating a "fake toolkit" to defame it, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Wednesday came up with some new information.

Taking to Twitter, Patra claimed that the author of the alleged toolkit is Saumya Varma.

Patra also shared four screenshots along with the tweet. One of the screenshots is of the LinkedIn profile of Saumya Varma, as per which she works at the Office of Professor MV Rajeev Gowda.

This may be noted that Congress’ research cell head Rajeev Gowda had yesterday called the toolkit “fake”.

"BJP is propagating a fake toolkit on Covid-19 mismanagement and attributing it to AICC Research Department. We are filing an FIR for forgery against (BJP Chief) J.P. Nadda and Sambit Patra. When our country is devastated by Covid, instead of providing relief, BJP shamelessly concocts forgeries," Gowda had tweeted yesterday.

As per Saumya Varma’s profile, shared by Patra, she has been working as the Policy and Political Research Consultant at the office of Rajeev Gowda at the AICC Research Department since April 2017.

Toolkit case: HC says last chance for Centre, police to reply to Disha Ravi's plea

Congress had yesterday lodged a police complaint against BJP's chief JP Nadda, Union minister Smriti Irani, and leaders BL Santosh and Sambit Patra, seeking to book them for "sharing and creating fake news".

While addressing a joint press conference, Rajeev Gowda and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said rather than assisting people during the COVID-19 pandemic, the BJP is stooping to low-level politics.

They further claimed this is being done to distract attention away from the government's failures in handling the pandemic.

Meanwhile, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted: "The ease with which those who raise questions are arrested under the Modi 'system', it would have been better if the vaccine would have been made available to them. Then the country would not have been in this painful situation today. Stop Corona, not the questions of the people."
