MP: Woman’s Google search history leads to her arrest in husband’s murder case

An internet search history of “methods to kill” has helped the Madhya Pradesh police put a murder case to bed. A woman in the state’s Harda district allegedly murdered her husband with her lover’s help, reportedly after running a chilling internet search for ways to murder somebody, and how to dispose of the body.

As per reports, Tabassum of Khedipur area in Harda district informed the local police about her husband Amir’s death on June 18. Subsequently, a police team arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Initially, the investigators suspected that a robbery was the reason behind the killing. However, the investigators, after examining the evidence present at the scene, suspected that the victim’s wife might be involved in the crime.

The investigators obtained call records of Tabassum and examined them. It was revealed that she had been regularly in touch with one Irfan, further boosting suspicion. The investigators, thereafter, examined her internet search history. It was found that she had conducted incriminating Internet searches. On Google, she had searched methods to kill, ways to tie hands and feet, and how to dispose of a body, according to a report by India Today.

Following this, Tabassum was interrogated and a horrific story was revealed that she had killed Amir with Irfan’s help. Police said Amir had been working in Maharashtra. He, however, returned to Madhya Pradesh after the pandemic-induced lockdown was imposed in Maharashtra. His wife, Tabassum, was having an affair with Irfan.

Aamir became a hurdle in Tabassum and Irfan’s relationship after returning from Maharashtra. Due to his presence, the two found were unable to meet each other. Therefore, Tabassum decided to eliminate him. She ran chilling internet searches for ways to kill a person and get rid of the body.

Police said Aamir had asthma. Tabassum replaced his asthma medicine with some other medicine. Aamir lost consciousness after consuming the other medicine. Thereafter, Irfan came to the house. Tabassum and Irfan then tied up Amir’s hands and feet using a scarf. After this, Irfan repeatedly hit Amir with a hammer till he died.

Both accused have been arrested, the police said.
