Words belittling women to be removed from school textbooks: Kerala CM

CM announced an online complaint registration portal named Aparajitha to resolve cyber crimes against women and complaints on offences against women.

As the cases of deaths, assaults, murders are continuously reported because of Dowry in the state, the Kerala government have decided to take action against it and remove the root cause of the issue. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that textbooks will be revised to remove words that are disrespectful towards women.

Earlier following the death of Vismaya Nair, allegedly over dowry-related abuse by her husband, the CM had said that: "A fair society is that which treats women and men as equals. In light of the recent horrifying incidents of domestic abuse, Kerala has decided to take more stringent measures to create a fair society."
