According to reports, Shreyas had organised a birthday celebration for one of his friends in school. They had planned to cut a watermelon instead of a cake. The teachers, who were reportedly displeased with the celebrations, summoned Shreyas to the staff room.

He was then allegedly beaten up by a group of teachers. However, the school authorities have dismissed the allegations. They alleged that it was an attempt by outsiders to tarnish the image of the school. A complaint has been registered against the teachers.
