Pune school denies entry to students over fee issue, allows later

Parents complained to deputy director of education Pune that students were given transfer certificate (TC) through email over fee issue

After a recent incident of bouncers manhandling parents at the Kline Memorial School in Bibwewadi, parents were denied entry on the premises of Euro School in Undri and allegedly manhandled by security guards on Monday. Police reached the spot after parents complained to the education department officials.

Parents complained to deputy director of education Pune that students were given transfer certificate (TC) through email over fee issue and not allowed entry on the first day of school reopening. Later, parents reached the spot and were denied entry to the premised by the security guards.

“Today I had gone to the school to drop my son and also pay fees, but was stopped by the security guards. They were not ready to take fees and allow my son to enter the school. I was manhandled by the bouncers in school,” said Pushpa Choudhary, one of the parents.

Audumbar Ukirde, deputy director of education Pune said, “We received complaints from parents about Euro School that 61 students were sent TC certificates on email for not paying fees of last year. We visited the school on Monday, took a joint meeting of parents and school administration and as it is the issue about last year during the Covid period we instructed the school to readmit these students. Accordingly, the school has given readmission to the 61 students and given parents two months to pay the pending school fees.”

Meanwhile, the school administration refused to speak on the issue despite repeated attempts.
