Hindi National language row: HD Kumaraswamy slams Ajay Devgn for 'ludicrous behaviour'
Joining the 'Hindi as national language debate', former Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy on Thursday morning slammed actor Ajay Devgn for his "ludicrous behaviour" in a series of tweets.
He said Ajay Devgn "is not only hyper in nature" but his views on Hindi as the national language "showed his ludicrous behaviour".
The comment came a day after Ajay Devgn tweeted in Hindi that 'Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language'. Devgn was responding to South star Kiccha Sudeep, who in an exclusive interview with KarnatakaTak, had said: "Hindi is no more a national language."
Backing Kiccha Sudeep, HD Kumaraswamy tweeted"Actor @KicchaSudeep saying that Hindi is not a National Language is correct. There is nothing to find fault in his statement. Actor @ajaydevgn is not only hyper in nature but also shows his ludicrous behaviour."
The Janata Dal (Secular) leader further said: "Like Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Marathi, Hindi is also one of languages. India is a garden of several languages. Land of multi cultures. Let there be no attempts to disrupt this."
Kumaraswamy trained his guns on both Congress and BJP saying: "From the beginnig, 'Hindi' based political parties in the Centre have been making efforts to destroy regional languages. Congress which started surprising regional languages is being continued by the BJP."
He also accused Ajay Devgn of being a mouthpiece of the BJP in its pursuit of "one nation, one tax, one language & one government".
