Mumbai has been witnessing moderate rains and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall with strong winds over the next 24 hours.

The city is likely to witness strong winds of 40-50 kilometres per hour and is very likely to reach up to 60 kmph on Wednesday. High tides in the Arabian Sea were also predicted.

As per IMD's local weather forecast, the maximum temperature is likely to reach 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum might hover around 24 degrees Celsius today.

Mumbai is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall till August 16.

The city experienced heavy downpours on Tuesday and recorded 26.87 mm of rainfall till 8 am on Wednesday.

The eastern and western suburbs recorded 31.38 mm and 33.06 mm downpours respectively in the same period.

The maximum temperature settled at 27.7 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature hovered at 24.3 degrees Celsius.
