CBI found nothing, Sisodia's honesty & patriotism stand vindicated: Kejriwal

Sisodia claimed that the central probe agency gave him a "clean chit" following its search of his locker.

With the Central Bureau of India (CBI) finding nothing upon searching Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's bank locker, CM Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor on Tuesday said that the honesty and patriotism of his party colleague stand vindicated in front of the entire nation.

Kejriwal's reaction came after the CBI conducted search at a Punjab National Bank branch in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad in presence of Delhi deputy CM and his wife.

"Nothing was found from Manish's home, nothing from his locker. CBI found nothing in its search. The honesty and patriotism of Manish stand vindicated in front of the entire nation.

"It is evident that the entire action was triggered by dirty politics. Hope, this dirty politics will stop and we will be allowed to work," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

CBI has registered an FIR against15 people, including Sisodia in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of AAP-led Delhi government's Excise Policy 2021-22.

"I am happy that I got a clean chit from the CBI in searches today. They have found nothing (incriminating) from searches of my locker or residence," Sisodia told mediapersons after CBI completed its search.

"The locker has jewellery worth about Rs 70,000 belonging to my children and wife. I am happy that the Prime Minister got my home raided, my locker searched, but nothing was found. My family and I have got a clean chit in all the raids," Sisodia further said.

The CBI had raided 31 locations, including Sisodia's residence on August 19.

The AAP leader Sisodia has alleged he has been made an accused in a false case as CM Arvind Kejriwal has emerged as an alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
