Incessant rain from the last three days continued on Sunday in several parts of the country. A building collapsed on Sunday in Delhi amid heavy rainfall.

A building collapsed in Delhi's Lahori Gate area this evening due to heavy rainfall, injuring at least five people. Several are feared to be trapped in the debris.

Continuous rainfall in the area has also caused traffic snarls and waterlogged streets.

Delhi received the second highest rainfall since 2007 on Saturday, bringing the day-night temperature margin to record low.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rainfall is likely to continue in Delhi-NCR till October 12.

Also, continuous rainfall for the third consecutive day in the national capital on Sunday improved the air quality on Sunday to "satisfactory" level.

In Lucknow, all the schools will be closed tomorrow due to heavy rainfall in the city, ordered the Lucknow DM. Also, Lucknow district administration issued an advisory and control room number for tomorrow's rain alert.

Cities including Lucknow, Noida, Gaziabad, Kanpur and Agra shut schools for all children up to class XII owing to a warning of heavy rainfall issued by the weather department for October 10. Uttar Pradesh has already been witnessing incessant rainfalls in the past few days.

In another rain related incident, a tourist bus overturned at Paderu Vanjangi in Andhra Pradesh injuring 14 people. The accident occurred due to the rains that lashed the area, causing the roads to become slippery and muddy.

IMD Mumbai predicted thundershowers, associated with isolated heavy rainfall for entire Maharashtra for the next 3-4 days. Also, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for the central Maharashtra, Marathwada and over Konkan.

Heavy rainfall spell likely to continue over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan during next 2 days, the IMD predicted.
