Knew him for 15 yrs, never thought he would commit such a crime, says Aaftab's friend

Nishank said that Aaftab had moved out in 2019 and had been staying at a different place.

Nishank Modi, who had known Aaftab Poonawala for over 15 years, is finding it difficult to believe that the childhood friend he used to play with, had murdered a person, and that too in such a brutal way. The chilling details of Shraddha Walkar's murder shocked the nation and Nishank said that no one would have imagined that Aaftab Poonawala would be involved in such a crime.

Speaking to India Today, Nishank said, "Aaftab and I would meet after school when we went out to play and I have known him for over 15 years. He was well-natured and I had not seen any anger issues in him. Aaftab was good in studies and worked in a call center and also had done a hotel management course."

Nishank said that Aaftab had moved out in 2019 and had been staying at a different place. Aaftab's family had also moved out due to work issues, Nishank said.

He recalls hearing about Shraddha and how she used to visit Aaftab at his house. "But I had not seen her," Nishank told India Today.

"No one would have ever imagined that he would be involved in such a crime," Nishank said as more details about the brutal murder of Shraddha Walkar are being unearthed.
