'Hugged & killed her': Bengaluru techie kills 2-year-old daughter as he didn't have money to feed her

Right after he allegedly killed his daughter named Jiya, the accused also attempted suicide in which he failed

In a shocking case reported from Bengaluru, a 2-year-old baby girl was allegedly killed by her own father who claimed he didn’t have money to feed her. According to the police, after killing his daughter, the 45-year-old techie tried to die by suicide.

What happened?

The body of the two-year-old child was found in the lake of Kendatti village of Kolar taluk on Saturday night. Besides, a blue car was also found on the bank of the lake, the police added. Suspicious of this, the locals informed the Kolar rural police station. After the investigation, the police arrested the accused for the murder of his daughter.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Parmar who belongs to Gujarat and got settled in Bengaluru with his wife Bhavya two years back. Rahul informed the police that he hugged his daughter in the car and spent time with her, played with her then killed her as he did not have any money and was not able to feed her.

Right after he allegedly killed his daughter named Jiya, the accused also attempted suicide in which he failed, police said. "I just hugged her tight and killed her. I didn’t have money to feed her, and taking her back home would have been worse for me. I just hugged her as she was crying and jumped in the lake, but I survived," Times of India quoted him as saying.

His confession

“I smothered her to death by holding her close to my chest, and then jumped into the lake. Since the lake was shallow and had less water, I couldn’t drown. I left the body into the water and asked a motorist to drop me at Bangarpet railway station," he told cops.
