The owner was able to get hold of the monkey as its face was hilariously captured on the camera before the signal was lost.

The owner of a plywood company in Kanyakumari was in for a shock when he found out a Rhesus monkey had been stealing the CCTV cameras. The man had installed CCTV to monitor the surroundings of his shop but was taken aback after he found that the CCTV cameras he installed to avoid theft were getting stolen one after the other.

While the puzzled owner was trying hard to catch the culprit, he finally got the answer as one of the CCTV cameras which got stolen captured the thief. To his utter disbelief, it was a Rhesus monkey who had been stealing CCTV cameras from his shop.

The owner was able to get hold of the monkey as its face was hilariously captured on the camera before the signal was lost. The owner had reportedly lost 13 CCTV cameras so far and the video of the monkey stealing the CCTV cameras has now gone viral on social media.

Monkeys have been increasingly straying into human settlements in India and causing disturbances, even attacking people.
