Kerala man held for running over 4 people with his car in Kannur; 1 dead, 3 hurt

A man from Kerala's Wayanad has been taken into custody for running over four people with his car in Kannur. One of the victims died while three others were injured in the incident, which took place around 4.30 pm on Sunday, December 11. The entire accident was caught on a CCTV camera in the area.

The accident took place in Kannur's Kuthuparamba region at Kayalode on the Kannur - Kuthuparamba road. The deceased was identified as Sukumaran, a retired police officer and a native of Kayalode.

The three others who were injured in the incident are Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) workers and are undergoing treatment. The workers had come there to work on an electric line connection. It was around this time that a car going towards Kannur lost control and hit the four people standing on the roadside.

The car did not stop and kept going. Police officials identified the ever as Madhavan, a native of Wayanad's Tholpetti area. Officials have taken both the car and the accused into custody.
