Bengaluru man shares shocking experience with Make My Trip, alleges fraud while booking flight ticket

A Twitter user named Rohit Varma shared his horrible experience with Make My Trip while booking a flight from Bengaluru to Guwahati.

Technology may have made a lot of things easier and available at a person’s fingertips, but it also has exposed people to a lot of scams. News of fraudulent transactions of users getting duped by false advertisements has become quite common nowadays. However, one seldom expects a big company to be involved in such incidents.

A Twitter user named Rohit Varma shared his horrible experience with Make My Trip while booking a flight from Bengaluru to Guwahati. Varma narrated how he was duped of Rs 1.65 lakh after he booked a business class ticket on a Vistara flight.

“@makemytrip is running a scam. They sold me business class tickets for a flight which does not have business class itself. It's impossible to reach their customer care. I have been trying to get in touch with them but no response at all. They have to refund INR 1.65L to me,” read the caption.

Varma added that he had a talk with Vistara regarding the incident and they were equally shocked. “Spoke to airlines yesterday. They were also shocked. @airvistara has promised to help me out,” he wrote. In the concluding tweets he mentioned that Make My Trip has accepted their mistake and resolved the issue.

Issue has been resolved. @makemytrip has realised their mistakes and promised to improvise on their customer care SOP. I really hope they do work on the same

My sincere gratitude to everybody who helped me in resolving this issue.. ⁰I will be deleting my original tweet — Rohit Varma (@rohitvaarma) February 11, 2023

People were shocked to see the post. Many, however, commented on how such tourism websites have a prior history of showing stuff that is not available in reality.
