Quarantine life :A reality check

Quarantine life :A reality check

I now only knew the days by the number of episodes of the Netflix series

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have an opportunity to save the world by simply staying in the comforts of my home!

Being able to stay indoors suddenly became my superpower considering the fact that I'm a very outdoor person. At first I was all excited and just loved the idea of not waking up to alarms, getting ready for college, attending lectures, submitting assignments etc. I thought well this is definitely the much needed break.

Time to catch up on my hobbies, relax a bit and the list goes on. However this ‘simply staying home’ should have never been underestimated. As days passed the excitement of having lots of time to do anything under the sun( sorry roof )turned into the sheer stress of not knowing what to do.

I now only knew the days by the number of episodes of the Netflix series (Money Heist!) that I watch . The characters in it with city names became my quarantine buddies. Now as the series end I am on my own , like a blank page just waiting to be filled by ideas only to end up doing nothing . You know what is the most dangerous thing about being idle? It's the overworking mind. My minds churns and churns like a machine making thoughts that eventually makes me question existentiality.

This goes on until I realise that thoughts are a time bomb and needs to be defused in order to keep my sanity in check. On the bright side, the quarantine period gave me a chance to reconnect with lost connections and age old friends. Video calling was now my only thing close to reality. My first quarantined birthday was also quite an add-on to memories. As of now I have gotten used this quarantine feels which by now I am pretty sure all of us can relate to.

Once this pandemic is over and when we all get back to our normal lives we will surely love it a little more and be grateful for all that we take for granted. Perhaps this was the earth’s way of pressing the pause button on our lives giving us a chance to make amends and grow. Hopefully we do not mess it up this time.
